Our firm, Larson & Rosenberger, LLP, is a certified public accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.  We’re both visionaries and realists (in a very growth-oriented, cutting-edge manner), and so are our clients. 

 

As a firm: 

§          We have twenty-two accounting professionals and four administrative staff.

§          We’ve grown to four offices (the newest being our Glendale, California office). 

§          We are the premier insurance accounting firm in Utah, and we have already begun expanding our insurance client-base to include the entire U.S. western region. 

§          Our other specialties include not-for-profit organizations, government entities, and small businesses. 

§          In 2003 we were invited to join The International Accounting Group (TIAG).

§          We are ranked among the top accounting firms in Utah according to Utah Business magazine’s 2005 rankings.

 

As professionals:

§          Our managing partner lectured on developing a niche market in the insurance accounting industry upon being invited to speak at the October 2004 TIAG conference held in Madrid, Spain.

§          Our tax partner regularly participates in international accounting forums.  Most recently, he attended the following TIAG conferences: Costa Rica, May 2004; New Orleans, Louisiana, May 2005. 

§          One of our audit partners is the past president of the Utah chapter of the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA).

§          One of our audit managers is the current president of the Utah chapter of the Insurance Accounting Systems Association (IASA).

§          One of our audit managers received the second highest score on the CPA exam in the state of Utah when she sat for the exam in 2003.

§          Our marketing director was selected by Rotary International to represent Utah businesses via a Group Study Exchange program to India in January 2005.

 

As individuals:

§          We run competitively with GPS tracking devices attached to our arms.

§          We water ski.

§          We camp and hike regularly (including, but not limited to, Mt. Kilimanjaro).

§          We operate a sheep farm.

§          We serve our community through the Spanish Fork Rotary club.

§          We sing, and we play the guitar, the piano, the saxophone, the maracas, the karaoke machine, etc.

§          We build houses.

§          We go to school.

§          We have families.

§          We start fan clubs (specifically for Salt Lake City’s professional soccer team, ReAL).

 

Our clients:

§          Since our first audit of Great Western Insurance Company in 1991, the company has grown from a handful of employees, $12.5 million in assets, and $5 million in earned premiums to 81 employees, $337 million in assets and $103 million in earned premiums.

§          In 2009, Bear River Mutual Insurance Company, one of Utah’s top five largest insurance companies, will celebrate its 100th year anniversary. 

§          Landcar Life Insurance Company has grown from $0 to $30 million in assets in 25 years and is part of an organization with over $2 billion per year in revenue. 

§          Stephen Sill, the Vice President/Treasurer of Security National Life Insurance Company, was the president of Insurance Accounting Systems Association (IASA) International from 2002–2003.  As part of his tenure, he composed the article, “Humble Beginnings Launch IASA, Insurance Technology Association Built on Volunteerism.” 

§          Dick Rottman, CEO of Bell United Insurance Company, was Nevada Insurance Commissioner from 1971–1978
