Taxpayer Deadlines List

 

January Deadlines

Individuals —

January 15:  pay the final installment of your previous year estimated tax; Form 1040 ES.

 

February Deadlines

Partnerships, Corporations, S-Corporations, and Non-Profit Organizations —

February 1:  Furnish forms 1098, 1099, W-2G & W-2 to recipients.
February 16: Partnerships — Furnish forms 1099-B, 1099-S and 1099-MISC to recipients.
February 28: Partnerships — Paper file information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if electronically filed, due March 31).

 

March Deadlines

Partnerships

March 15: [Starting with tax years beginning after December 31, 2015: Form 1065 will be due on March 15th with a 6-month extension available]
31: Electronic filing of information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if paper filing, due February 28th).

Corporations

March 15: File a calendar year income tax return on Form 1120 and pay any tax due. If requesting the 6-month extension, file Form 7004 and pay any estimated tax due. [Starting with tax years beginning after December 31, 2015: Form 1120 will be due on April 15th with a 5-month extension available]
31: Electronic filing of information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if paper filing, due February 28th).

 S-Corporations

March 15: File a calendar year income tax return on Form 1120S and pay any tax due. Provide each shareholder with a copy of their Schedule K-1. If requesting the 6-month extension, file Form 7004 and pay any estimated tax due.
March  31: Electronic filing of information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if paper filing, due February 28th).

Non-Profit Organizations

March 31: Electronic filing of information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if paper filing, due February 28th).

 

April Deadlines

Individuals

April 15: File your income tax return on Form 1040 or 1040EZ and pay any tax due. If requesting the 6-month extension, file Form 4868 and pay any estimated tax due.
April 15: If making estimated tax payments for the year, the first installment is due. Form 1040-ES.

Partnerships

April 15: File a calendar year income tax return on Form 1065. Provide each partner with a copy of their Schedule K-1. If requesting the 5-month extension, file Form 7004. [Starting with tax years beginning after December 31, 2015: Form 1065 will be due on March 15th with a 6-month extension available]
February 28: Partnerships — Paper file information returns on Form 1096 and/or Form W-3 (if electronically filed, due March 31).

Corporations

April 15: [Starting with tax years beginning after December 31, 2015: Form 1120 will be due on April 15th with a 5-month extension available]
April 15: Deposit the first installment of estimated income tax. Form 1120-W.

 

May Deadlines

Non-Profit Organizations

May 15: File your calendar year income tax return on Form 990. If requesting the first 3-month extension, file Form 8868. [Starting with tax years beginning after December 31, 2015: There will be a single 6-month extension available, rather than two 3-month extensions.]
